2011 Iowa State Cross Country Championship

2011 Cross Country season was put in the books today with the completion of the 2011 Iowa State High School Cross Country Championships.

Angie Hoogland set the Springville High School XC record, finishing 30th overall in a time of 15:46. Angie proved she belonged running with the best in the state - fantastic run and a great season Angie.

Arden fought through pressure, nerves and some self-doubt today. Not running her best race and not really getting things going, Arden finished her high school career with her second straight All-State performance, finishing 6th with a run of 14:58. A great season as well. Next year Arden will be running for Bradley University while leaving a new Central City High School XC record of 14:56 for her successors to chase.

Congratulations to all the runners that competed today, just making it to the big show is a huge accomplishment.

And there was a lot on the line, as in quality runners, some very tough teams, and 100 some other girls vying for the top 10 spots that earn an individual birth to the 2011 Iowa State Cross Country Championship in Ft Dodge.
